Every summer, the World’s Largest Laundromat runs a reading program (Read-to-Ride) for kids aged 6-15. For every book read during the summer, the kid earns a raffle ticket that may win them a bike on raffle day.
This year, we’re very excited to debut Write-to-Ride, a storytelling contest for
7th and 8th graders.
How it will work
To qualify: You have to be in 7th or 8th grade, or going into 7th grade or 9th in the fall. This means it covers all current and future 7th/8th graders.

How to submit: Each story must be typed and printed. The pages must be delivered in an envelope to the Laundromat, and include the Entry Form that will be available at the Laundromat and the libraries (and participating schools).
The judges: The Laundromat manager, Mark Benson, will be the sole judge. He is an agented author who writes Young Adult fiction.
The prizes:
First, a new bike.
Second and third, to be determined.
